Buck 110 folding knife? Big enough in case you really need to cut something, not too big. https://www.buckknives.com/product/110-folding-hunter-knife/0110FAM01/ Gloves? Deerskin work? I’m in the market for black leather ones myself.

My Son bought me one of these last year...every hiker needs a spork and this is a combo K-bar serrated bladed knife. K-bar is good quality and if you go canyoneering alone the serrated blade might come in handy.

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

I miss my sonic toothbrush when overnighting it. I think I'm going to put one of these on my wish list as it looks fairly compact and lightweight. https://www.target.com/p/philips-one-by-sonicare-battery-toothbrush-midnight-hy1100-04/-/A-79859392

I've heard of tactical knives, tactical flashlights, tactical backpacks, but I think this is the first tactical spork I've seen!

Just for educational purposes because I'm sure some people reading this aren't in the know. The reason you might need a serrated blade is Instagram hikers have been known to haunt the canyon country, and you might run into one.

Ok, I started this thread last year in December (with many excellent ideas), but it doesn't hurt to get the ball rolling a little earlier this year! Here is an article on gifts for hikers I just found on the SectionHiker.com website: https://sectionhiker.com/section-hikers-gift-guide/50-best-backpacking-gifts-under-50-dollars/

Navy salad got ahead of me! "Section Hiker" does this annually (50 best gifts under $50) and the link provided is his 2022 edition, just out today. He hikes in the White Mts. of New Hampshire, which has really horrible weather, comparable to Wyoming winters! Theres a $50 or less section, a $20 or less section, and an uner $10. Unfortunately I am no longer in the market for hiking gifts. I just wish there were more trails accessible to those using walkers and close to my home!

May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view.--E.Abbey

I've been getting unique and pretty maps from Etsy as gifts. It's fun to see a different view of your adventures.
