Alleged Sockpuppet!

Rant on:
It happened. I loaded up my skis and went down to the park in Okanogan which has a half mile loop. The loop hadn't been plowed and nobody but another skier had used it. Their tracks were too close together for me so I took off breaking and making a track to work out on.
I didn't even get to ski more than 100 yards on my completed trail. Two women arrived and walked single file through it. I was very very mad. I kinda told them off, then I left because they managed to destroy my work. It was like they tried to do so.
It kinda wrecked my day.
What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

Well, that was nice of you to pack it down some for walkers! /s
Backpacking: limited to one pack at a time. Cameras: limited to as many as I can carry.

I think more likely they were clueless non-skiers who had no idea what they'd done. The effect is the same on your ruined track but not assuming deliberate ill intent might help your BP.

Well, it's not surprising since..."According to the National Center for Educational Statistics (NCES), 21 percent of adults in the United States (about 43 million) fall into the illiterate/functionally illiterate category."
So, don't expect many to understand or have knowledge of ski track or trail etiquette, or even how to properly dispose of dog poo, or actually even their own for that matter.
And then some are disturbed by stacks of rocks..

To someone who has never skied before the tracks are just a natural path to walk in. Many of them think they are doing you a favor by "packing it down for you". I have seen it time and again hiking or snowshoeing with friends who are shocked when I explain why skiers hate it.

And no doubt, like the clueless who tromp thru the ski tracks, some noobs who are compulsive cairn builders and rock balancers don't realize that in the back-country, some cairns are meant to be route markers where no trail is visible (at least, historically).
