15 years ago I planted some garden things too early in April and a hard freeze killed most of it.

Speaking of crazy weather, the forecast today for Poulsbo, Washington called for the weather to be 50 degrees and partly to mostly cloudy. No rain or snow expected. Today it snowed at my house and it was in the mid 30s! The weather was completely wrong! There’s been times where the weather could be a little wrong but not by much. Snow in the lowland puget sound area in April is rare, the last time that happened was April 16, 2008 when the puget sound area got an inch of snow.

To have a good life, you need to take risks.

Started snowing, lightly, here on Tuesday. It gradually ramped up and dropped ~30" (average estimated from several measurements according to local TV). The wind also gradually ramped up over the two days, gusting to ~60 yesterday/last night. It's still blowing around but she actual snowfall seems to have stopped. Now I have about 3' of snow in the driveway, and all the way to the main street a block south. The city crews have been working non-stop for two days trying to keep some of the arterials open, and clearing as needed for emergency vehicles. It was snowing hard enough that the street lights were on all day yesterday. I've not seen that since the spring of '75. I almost put the snow blower away last weekend when the temps were hanging around 40-60.... Now to see if it'll start. I've not used it all winter....

Yeah, not all that often, but "character building" when they do occur.

We'll be grateful for this moisture and cool weather come August. It would be nice to hike at the height of summer without sucking in smoke for a change.

This is perfect urban hiking weather. Was out at Golden Gardens amongst some giants listening to thunder. A chill in the air... Nice!

I was driving to work in ND on an oil rig and I could not tell which road to turn on during a blizzard, so I went back home. It was a slow night on the rig and I still got paid.

I drove from detroit to Seattle during a late blizzard. Not sure where I was, but it was after calving season. There where hundreds of dead frozen calves stuck in snow drifts along the highway. Quite sad. I moved to seattle in early April 0f 2008. North suburbs and foothills got a few inches the second week imwas here. Skied powder at stevens. I thought it was the norm. In gold bar,, We generally get some type of freezing weather late March, early April. Ends up cutting into our fruit tree harvests.
