Not sure if this fits the thread title or not but here goes: The other day our neighbor introduced us to their new cat. 24 lbs (and growing) and about as long and tall as any bobcat I have ever seen. They called it an "F1 Serval". I looked that up and it means they are 75% wild - as in Savannah wild. They said you never know what genes are going to produce at the F1 level. They actually got 2 of these animals and they are sisters though the 2nd cat is only 10 lbs. The cat was on a leash and was very shy and timid. I am not a cat person but I just don't understand how this works. There is no way you could let that animal outside and expect a 6' fence to hold it. And I can't imagine what the neighbors would think if they saw it out on a leash. So is it practical to keep an animal like that inside all the time? Maybe I am just too naive about cats but this strikes me as bad fit for a neighborhood pet. Thoughts?
