A rough estimate would be - every hiker in WA state and a bunch from out of state have been a mile out of the pic to the left.
Not to mention the numerous NWHikers who have tromped on the peaks in the background.

Kind of looks like the unnamed lake close to Summit Chief. Heck with my eye sight it could be anywhere. Nice pic.

Hope it's ok to post another one without the previous lake being solved. Hopefully someone can figure out the previous one now that the thread is bumped. Here's my lake:

C'mon Borank, quit stringing us along! clown.gif FWIW, I have never been to Lake Ann but have tromped on those peaks a few times.

Thanks Tom, I finally see it now. The color on google earth isn't anywhere near as striking as that in person photo. I've fantasized about camping above those tarns.

Nope. This one is small and probably doesn't have a lot of up close visitors. I saw no fish but a ton of amphibians.

My next guess would be something in the Olympics then. I'll have to poke around later.

up.gif There are others who have been to Ann multiple times to cover for the few that may not have visited yet - but that's why I called it a "rough" estimate. smile.gif String Lks are likely a provisional name.

Hi Bramble_Scramble: It reminded me of the Olympics so much (the rock, vegetation etc.), and it took a while but I knew I recognized that ridge on the far right (south of Graywolf Ridge). Its the pond north of "Petunia Peak North". Here's a pic I took from above it back on Dec 28 2013:

You got it! I cropped the original photo hoping to make it a little more difficult. Here's the original as well as a summer version of your photo.

Dug up this shot from last October. At first glance there doesn't appear to be a lake in it, but look closely! smile.gif

Wow, that was fast - I will need to find a harder one. smile.gif You're absolutely right, this is Summit Chief Lake. Here is a wider shot.
Definitely one of my favorite hikes from last year, this area is jaw-dropping.

We hit Summit Chief Lake a few years ago. Supposedly stocked with golden trout but my friend didn't even get a nibble. There were two golden eagles who seemed to live near the lake. Our theory is it the lake is/was their easy snack bar.
