My dreams must be calling me back "home" because I had another one last night.
I work for a nationwide demolition company and in last nights dream I was talking with the former project manager about work on the east coast. Then I was off on an another AT thruhike...
What is this about this trai to have so many reoccuring dreams?

Yes, I still dream about my PCT thru hike that was 10 years ago. Especially the trail towns.

I have great memories of my many hikes (mostly backpack trips of varied length, up to and often 7 nights) along and near the AT in NH and ME, but not so much dreams. I have had dreams of high alpine camps that I am sure were inspired by camps in places like high on Mount Olympus and in the alpine zone of the ALW though...

I think many of us have memories/dreams of times when we were moving (hopefully with some grace) thru a landscape of our choice. Makes sense. Those were times when we were relatively empowered, able to shape our life to what we want it to be.
Some of my favorite memories are spring ski trips, 3 pin Nordic skis, a perfect forecast and corn snow. An 18 lb pack for 3 nights out and the freedom to roam. No stove, no tent. Just a bivy sack, pad and sleeping bag. Just seemed like the closest a human could get to being a river otter.
