This came up on another forum, but usually if one person asks there are others thinking the same thing. Ebikes are popular on nwhikers, maybe this will be of use to someone here.
A person with a torque sensing eBike and also with a traditional road bike is getting power readings that are off by 10 % from the eBike and it was making it difficult to gain insight into his efforts and capabilities.
Here is a tool that will rescale the power values in a folder full of TCX files and preserve the original data, to allow meaningful comparisons.
Apart from the eBike side, this may be of use if for example you have a single sided power meter and a known imbalance between legs.
This is released under a GPL license, meaning you can do anything you want with this except sell it. You can't sell it because it already belongs to everybody.

I realized that the watch I got a couple weeks ago defaults to 172.5 mm crank arms, and I didn't set it for the 175 mm that I use. That's the kind of thing where every value in the files is off by the same % and a mass update makes sense.
The reason anybody would want to do this is because you accumulate power data as you go. Some days are short and hard, some are long and easy. There are a lot of different ways to ride a bike, you collect information on your capabilities vis a vis all of them, and software can help you find insight about your strengths and weaknesses as a cyclist and how to use and address them.
I just ride. Finally got out today and went up Salmon Cr. for lunch. Tailwind going up, headwind coming down. I have no need of such data.
Wildflowers are great this year.
What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities
