Today I'm getting "upload failed" from this feature (although the thumbnail preview shows up on the left). Firefox 101.0 on Linux

Yeah, I don't know why there would be a CORS error as nothing has changed and Access-Control-Allow-Origin is properly set.

It looked like it was an http vs. https issue ...

No, that shouldn't matter. I think it might be due to new version of PHP on photo server.

I know this topic has been brought up before and LetsEncrypt was mentioned as an easy and free solution for adding SSL to the domain. But that has an obvious pitfall of requiring you to update the cert every three months and all. So I can understand your hesitation around it. Have you considered Cloudflare which also provides a free certificate? I believe it's fully managed as well. And will provide DDOS protection and a CDN. https://www.cloudflare.com/ssl/

Should be fixed now. Was caused by a redirect on the photo server that was dropping the CORS headers.

Tweaked things to allow uploads of HEIC and HEIF images. I didn't realize this was the default image format for apple devices but if you drink that kool aid it should help with some of the after taste. clown.gif

I noticed some uploads, such as maps, could benefit from displaying larger sizes than 2048 pixels so I added an option on the posting screen to upload original size. Please use this option sparingly to conserve our attachment space.

I typically resize to that size, so really this is also a convenience. Will only enable for maps/route topos. cool.gif
