Maybe I've been hiding under a log, but I didn't even think this was possible. But here's one of several options (runs about $15/lb): Anthonys Heavy Cream Powder
Quote: "Our Heavy Cream Powder contains only one ingredient - sweet cream solids. No fillers, free-flowing agents, or preservatives added!"
Anyone ever try this or something similar? The reviews mostly say it loses something in the drying process and it doesn't dissolve easily, but that overall it's not too bad. This could be a nice addition if you're trying to get more calories or you just want to add some "creaminess" to coffee or rehydrated meals while on the trail.

I have not used that particular brand, but have used others. Yea, add it to any creamy soup or such and it adds Calories, creamy texture, and a bit of creamy taste. It goes great in mashed potatoes, mac'n'cheese, and almost any smoothie drinks you use on the trail.

I use the same product from a different vendor. I am also a big fan of butter powder from Packit Gourmet (I assume other vendors carry this as well).

I just now finally opened the package to test it out to see how it dissolved.
I did as they recommended, adding 1-2 teaspoons of cold water to a tablespoon of powder, stirred it into a smoother-than-expected medium paste, then added to my coffee and it seemed to dissolve completely. No big deal! Of course, dissolving in a hot liquid may have helped. Anyway, doesn't taste as good as fresh cream (duhhhh), but not too bad!
