Downtown Redmond is booming with construction of multi-story stuff. Makes sense since there will be a light rail station in 2-3 years.

Glad this thread got bumped up because I didn't see most of it following my last contribution. The numbers quoted in the urbanist article linked to in Pyrites' post: "Seattle’s population rebounded from its brief pandemic dip with a vengeance according to the latest population estimates from the Washington State Office of Financial Management (OFM). The Emerald City set a new OFM high of 762,500 as of April 1, 2022, which is an increase of 20,100 residents (+2.7%) from the previous April. Far outpacing the suburbs, Seattle accounted for two-thirds of King County’s annual population growth — tallied at 30,650 (+1.3%) by OFM." According to the census bureau, (below) there was a loss of just over 20K from July '20 to July '21 in King County; so on balance the county is only up about 10K from two years ago. I still find it hard to believe the local population can swing that much in a couple years, pandemic notwithstanding. I wonder if we're beginning to have the same problem as Vancouver, ie, a lot of foreign investment "ghost purchasers".
