FYI, the secure version of NWHikers (HTTPS) is now online. This will allow secure usage 100% of them time, but in particular around logins and password changes. The non-secure version (HTTP) still works, and switching between them is currently manual. I will discuss with Tom whether we want to re-direct the old site (my preference) or leave it optional. If you use a browser plugin like HTTPS By Default (which I highly recommend), you will automatically be directed to the secure site. If there are any issues, please let me know or post them here.

Thanks for adding this! FWIW I don't have any plugin installed and it's automatically using https. I suspect most modern browsers will automatically use https if available.

I'd still prefer to automatically redirect HTTP to HTTPS on the backend, effectively disabling the non-secure site. But there's no rush. We should probably wait to see if I broke anything (else).
