Enough with the biking videos already...I'm sure people are thinking. Well, after sitting in a saddle for over 200 miles you probably won't see another one for a while. 21 years after my last 1 day STP, I joined my buddy (33x) and his daughter (25x) on Saturday to reacquaint myself with saddle suffering.
Thank you for the video. I admired your bravery to sign up for the 1-day ride after a 21 year absence. I last rode it in 2019 so my hiatus was much less. We started at the same time but I don’t remember seeing your distinctive jerseys. I went through the chute at 8:00 PM. My legs are still sore but everything else has recovered. My bike is hanging up in the garage. The spiders are going to use it before me.

We saw a lot of the same people all day long. We arrived at 8:45. Quote from another biker: "I used to like my bike." My legs have been fine, it's my butt I can still feel, but I'm with you...not sure when I'll sit on the bike again.
I connected several times with a group of Black riders who call themselves the Rainier Riders. Their pace was equal to mine and I drafted with them to ease the energy expenditure.
Enjoyed your video. I prefer to enjoy the ride for 2 days rather than suffer for one. Kelso makes a good R&R stop with hotel sheets and restaurant food. Then a quiet & cool slide into PDX on Sunday morning. With a leisurely stop at the best-in-category St Helens rest stop.
18 STPs... I can see no reason not to go again in 2023.
