I posted the update about the vehicle fire a few pages back. Must have gotten overlooked with all the noise about other topics. The update was posted on the Snohomish County Scanner FB page, which cited Sky Valley Fire as the source. Random vehicle fire in the woods makes me wonder if meth was involved.

3-5 am I am sure drugs or alcohol was involved. How can these crackheads afford the money to drive all the way up here and do their krap.

Perhaps the area is a chop shop, so driving to the place would be a work commute.

More images from last week. Seems like all of the fires west of the crest have calmed down, I'm hoping for a smokeless weekend.

Raining good at Rainy Pass yesterday. Hiked in to Lake Doris in intermittent drizzle yesterday. Cold with good air quality in the Pasayten from where I’m posting!

Thanks! I forgot about the cement bridge. And for the info that they put up a gate to eagle. I had previously been thinking about going up there. One of my favorite places for fall shrooming.

One good and most welcome 30 minute rain shower yesterday in Index. Not nearly enough, of course, but the longest journey begins with a single step.

Glad to hear that Index got a little rain. The winds are east/southeast now so the smoke is back. Hoping for a wind change later in the day.

Matt, check here: https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/ You can zoom into the fires you're interested in, click on the icon, and get info current to the update time, which is posted. Also you can zoom in closer and see the fire perimeters.

Looks like the Bolt Creek fire jumped across lower Barclay Creek... didn't notice those several new blobs on the previous boundary map. Or maybe they just got better imaging with clearer weather.

Those blobs on the south side of Heybrook Ridge have been there since at least Sunday or Monday I think. I hope the Barclay trail gets spared. The Baring trail might be a bit hotter/more interesting after this.

Inciweb says minimal activity on all those fires. Looks like it got very close to Monument 83. I hope they can continue to protect it, I've been wanting to visit for a long time.
