Two completely unrelated things that showed up in my youtube feed today. A short doc on the environment inside the MSHelens' crater, and a feature showing how Oregon artist Robert Anders does wax bronze casting. All of his work - in different media - is fantastic!

this thread got all the way down to the bottom of the page! rant.gif if you've got a pulse, you're going to be up on your feet dancing before this video ends:

Do you ever think sometimes that some people simply have too much time on their hands?
I'm wondering if I am the one who should be asking that question. It's like being inside one of those Salvador Dali paintings with the endless mirrors and go on and on and on and on. ... okay, back to dancing. up.gif

This has got to be one of the funniest reviews of a music video I have ever seen. "Enter Sandman" ykm.gif

I never had a "bucket list" up until I saw this video yesterday. I have GOT to try this!
Nothing says FUN like jumping out of a helicopter and wresting a wild horned ungulate with sharp hooves to the ground! Yeah buddy! up.gif Yes, I have taken note of comments expressing disapproval of such activity from a few of those to whom I emailed this link last night.
the guy from New Zealand wrote:
"Inevitably, the deer rush took a heavy toll in both men and machines. Between 1976 and 1982, 208 helicopters crashed while hunting, killing 17 people and seriously injuring another 40. Seventy-two of those machines were totalled. Makarora hunter Dave Osmers wrote: “. . . New Zealand has by far the worst record of helicopter accidents in the world . . . of the last 20 ’copters imported into New Zealand, 16 have been completely written off in accidents. Insurance companies have paid out over eight times the amount of premiums paid in, and the rates are going up to 30–35 per cent . . .” Wallis’s operation lost nine helicopters in one year, and hunter Charlie Jelly commented that “if you walked away from a crash it was a good landing”.
Meaning... this is a definite must-do. up.gif up.gif up.gif up.gif up.gif up.gif up.gif up.gif up.gif up.gif up.gif up.gif up.gif

^^^^ I might be wrong about this, but it seems that continuous baiting of one place could be detrimental to those animals; teaching them to be dependent on that food source. I get the usefulness - especially if you're trying to confirm the presence of elusive wolverine, but why keep doing it?
