Any Twitchers/Birders out there? Hanging out in the tree next to the house this morning. Doesn't it belong in Mexico?

What are you seeing (or hearing) that suggests other than a Common raven?

A good authority says that it is an immature turkey vulture. They don't get the head until they are adults and some stick around late in the year.

Interesting. Can see it now with that suggestion.

I think the open mouth just accentuates the curve of the upper beak. The short, rounded head/neck connection (+ shape of head) also looks more corvid like to my eye. The bird on the right is an immature turkey vulture (courtesy of Smithsonian).

It is as though I had read a divine text, written into the world itself, not with letters but rather with essential objects, saying: Man, stretch thy reason hither, so thou mayest comprehend these things. Johannes Kepler
