I was hiking the Glacier Basin TH this week at Rainer and the trailhead sign said the White River campground will be reservation only starting next season. FYI

Thanks for the info.
I've always been afraid to even try to camp at White River because I figure it is always full. Not that I will ever be able to find a reservation at the campground.

That’s unfortunate. The number of reserved but unoccupied sites I see in other campgrounds is staggering.

I went there in Sept. 2021 and found it to be full, with numerous campsites closed for repair, and lots of sites "reserved" for a group of some kind, but completely unoccupied (this was after dark).

Best thing to do if you pull in after dark is to repeatedly shout into a megaphone "any sites left!!?" That way you can just stand at the entrance shouting until someone helps you out.

I have camped there this year and last and never had a problem getting a nice level site....always weekdays though.
