I saw this in the early 80's at the Grand Illusion double-billed with "Monte Python and the Holy Grail". It is pretty corny but also extremely hillarious and preposterous. I looked for it in CD form some years back but it was not available. Enjoy. The Apple War

Thanks for finding this! I've searched for it for years and previously only found a low resolution copy without subtitles.

I'm recuperating from an injury and just watched that. It's a wonderful movie and gets better the longer it goes. I give it two thumbs and two big toes up. Kinda made me think of the Swedish Chef.

What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities
