Sometimes I miss my Palm III for making lists--it wasn't really useful for much more. Now I grab the phone to add milk to the shopping list and find myself lost in cat videos an hour later.

I had one it was useful for docketing and addresses but less than a smart phone. Scribble was a useless kludge.

I had two - the III and the Vx, loved them both. I liked the ability to take pictures, write email, surf the web (a few sites, when mobile/friendly was still a rarity).
Then switched to iPhone when iphone3 became available.
Re Palm, I miss the ability to point the Palm to someone else’s Palm and download Contact info.

I worked for someone who probably shouldn't have used one. It took her longer to figure out how to work it than it would have to make phone calls or keep notes using....a pen and paper.
What's especially fun about sock puppets is that you can make each one unique and individual, so that they each have special characters. And they don't have to be human––animals and aliens are great possibilities

Sharing contact info. I was at the kind of business meeting that brings together people from maybe eight organizations involved in one project. Business cards passed back and forth. Someone else had a palm. I asked to do that contact info sync thing. Guy said what are you talking about, and No. That whole no second chance to make first impression. That guy more or less thought I was some kind of palm pilot vampire. Most had read at least minimal intro and thought it normal.
I got rid >700 cards when I ditched the Rolodex for the Palm, not counting a bunch that I thought were obsolete.

I had a Handspring version of the Palm Pilot. It was very useful in my clinical practice for infectious diseases, clinical calculations (pharmacokinetics, IBW, creatinine clearance, aminoglycoside dosing, etc.), drug info databases and others. It was actually easier to use for those functions than web-based systems.
