Once it's CHAINS REQUARRED, then these various animals and whatnot can get thru easier. In heavy conditions there's less cars!!

Yes they are and they also have poor eyesight and are very aggressive, way more dangerous than a bear.

It's hard to imagine moose not being here historically. They seem pretty adaptable and will go wherever the eating is good. The next big challenge will be getting across I-5.

We spent a good half hour on a portage trail in Canada waiting for a Bull Moose to move on.

+1, similar experience on Isle Royale.
Rumor has it that Canadian drivers perceive a moose collision as much worse than a deer hit. Height of the moose translates into your vehicles hood hitting moose's legs, while the thousand pound plus body of the moose comes right at your windshield, and you.

I was snowmobiling near Priest lake a few years back, came around a corner and met up with a young, probably a yearling moose, so about the size of a large deer.
I had no where to turn around and really didn't want to. So I headed toward the moose, he would run ahead a ways and then turn around to face me, not wanted to move. I bluff charged him a few times, he would take off then stop. This went on for about 3/4 of a mile until I came to a wide spot in the trail and passed him. If it would have been a full grown moose I would have went back the way I came.
I have seen several while snowmobiling, but usually they hear me coming and exit the trail.
