Ran across a pano of Payto Lake when reviewing our Canadian Rockies photos. I had seen a lot of fantastic photos over the years taken from this overlook and always wanted to see it myself but each trip the lookout it was closed for construction. This year it was open so I finally got to see it. I'm not sure if it was my overblown expectations, the fact that we got to see Moraine and Louise lakes from high altitude (for comparison), or the masses of people we had to pass to get there but I was disappointed. Don't get me wrong - the scene is stunning (and we saw it on a bright clear day), it just didn't make the highlight reel for me.

Except for reflections I don't usually care for photos that center the horizon but this one really works for me.
