Your picks for men’s and women’s hiking boots? I love my Vasquez Breeze 2. But these are no more. No much tread left on these. I loved them for being light, ankle support, comfort… Now, I’m not sure what to get.

I'm on my second pair of Hoka Speedgoats and really enjoying them. I have a bazillion miles between half a dozen Altra Superior and Lone Peaks too.

I like a full leather boot with lots of support. I'm on my third pair of Scarpa SL Active. Not light but good for kicking steps and gaining footing on steep, off trail terrain. https://us.scarpa.com/sl-active

Speaking of which, when the shape of my foot changed enough that I wasn't comfortable in my well-worn Raichles, I didn't know what I was going to do, not wanting to spend a ton of loot. I wandered into the discounted returns area at REI and there was a pair of all leather Italian Zamberlans, which just happened to fit me. Priced $180. I was ecstatic. I took them upstairs to see what the regular retail price was and the sales guy told me those normally weren't stocked; they were a "special order". He looked them up on his phone - regular price then was $400. Heavy boots aren't everyone's cup of tea but given how many times my ankles have been sprained plus a tendency to pronate, it works for me. I like the nostalgic Norwegian welt stitching. The Z's fit me so well I didn't even have to break them in. https://www.zamberlanusa.com/product/9789385/1025-tofane-nw-gtx-r-rr-men-s-norwegian-welt-hiking-boots-waxed-brick

I have worn a pair of Asolo's for several years now and like them very well and will likely be the last pair of boots I ever buy. https://www.google.com/search?q=asolo+gt&rlz=1CAUSZT_enUS1025US1025&oq=asolo+gt&aqs=chrome..69i57.6946j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#oshopproduct=vc:15280136287678342,vsc:15280136287678342,oid:16802850288132953509,iid:5837103789388641966,rds:UENfNTAwMjc0NDgzMjQ0MjA4MzM5fFBST0RfUENfNTAwMjc0NDgzMjQ0MjA4MzM5,pvt:a&oshop=apv Some as was mentioned above nearly always wear all leather, high top boots mainly for the ankle support and on steep terrain. I only wear them when on really steep terrain, or in wet and/or cold (snow) conditions, otherwise I wear trail runners, sometimes sandals and sometimes crocs, it all depends upon the conditions. I really think that doing a lot of walking in crocs has helped to make my ankles really strong, so I really don't need the support.

Go placidly amid the noise and waste, and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

Zamberlan 996 VIOZ GTX ! On my sixth or seventh pair. The best trail boot for my feet! They don't last forever, and I don't believe they can be re-soled. Still, the best medium/light boots in my opinion. So comfy! B.

I wouldn’t want to spend more than $200 for a pair since I have three members in our family who need to replace the old ones.

Dave Page & Co in Fremont, would know if they can be. One of the "gems" of Seattle.

Check out the Salomon X Ultra (3 or 4) Mid. Looks pretty close to what you had, lightweight and within your price range.

Do these last: Salomon X Ultra 3 or 4? These seem light. These aren’t waterproof. Are these similar to Vasquez Breeze in keeping water out in rain? There are Pioneer ones too. I’m not sure how these differ?

When I bought my Asolo's I paid $220 online, no shipping and no ta at that time. There were $290 plus at REI.
