This lesser-known little peak is situated just north of hwy. 74 in the Santa Rosa Mtns., in the high desert south of Palm Springs in Riverside Co. I brought my friend Mary & after the hike we camped @ Pinyon Flat CG just below, & bagged Butterfly Pk. the following day.
There's no official trail, but it's ez enough to figure it out and pick up a cairned route thru the south-facing gully @ the end of Jeraboa Rd. On the way up:
