Sorry to hear about your experience, Bowregard. My surgery wasn't as extreme, but it's the one surgery I regret having (I shouldn't get started on my history of joint surgeries; every time I fill out a medical history form that asks for a list of all my surgeries I need an extra page!).
This podiatrist was definitely into the money. He billed my insurance $850 for pulling out a pin that took 5 minutes including spraying on the topical anesthetic.
I have no idea what I was billed for pulling my pins. All I remember is feeling like I was in an auto garage because he literally grabbed pliers and yanked them out.
This was also the only surgery I regret having done.
