Waptus lake is in Eastern Washington, but below 3500 ft elevation, but you included it. So it seems your criteria is a bit flexible.

That may depend of the definition. Pyramid is 8243, the bottom of the lake at -388, for a total of 8631'. Telescope Peak in Death Valley NP is 11,048, with the valley -282, for a total of 11,330'.

OK, fair enough. But the offset at Lake Chelan is just over three miles between min and max. In Death Valley it is around 11 miles. You could probably find lots of points with a bigger drop if you ease the restriction of the horizontal offset. I was just trying to make a point that the Pyramid-Lake Chelan basin drop ranks right up there with Hells Canyon and the Grand Canyon.

And neither is a vertical drop, as quoted.

True dat! But very few places are. The Grand Canyon is 18 miles wide and Hells is 10 miles wide, so measuring to the lowest point could be an offset of 9 or 5 miles respectively. And most big peaks have a wide horizontal offset to get the maximum drop.

Here's a list of steepest places in Washington state: https://www.summitpost.org/washington-top-100-steepest-peaks/694524. I'm surprised Pyramid didn't show up on the list. Well, it doesn't include vertical drop, just angle.

Supposedly the biggest vertical drop in the world is on Baffin Island in the Canadian Arctic at over 4000’ and is actually overhung at 105 degrees. El Cap is 3000’. In WA I do not know for sure but Baring and Bear have some pretty serious sheer drops.

Notch Peak, in Utah's West Desert, has an epic sheer drop.
