What can travelers expect?
The bridge will close to all traffic for up to four weekends this summer, weather-permitting. There are up to 14 nights where there will be intermittent closures to traffic. Crews need calm weather to perform this work.

There really aren't a lot of alternative routes.
I've been vague about where because the peninsula is huge, and full of cool stuff. If you're headed to Hurricane Ridge from Seattle (ish), most people would take the ferry to Kingston or Bainbridge, and drive over the Hood Canal Bridge. There's a Whidbey to Port Townsend ferry.
