I wonder if these tracks (probably have to zoom in) I saw on Tuesday are yours.
Sort of. Though that’s likely the track I laid down, given how established it is, others were on it after me. In comparison, if you zoom in you can see what I believe is a short remaining section of my track on the way down, when I stayed right of that more visible track. (Btw, nice pic in your WTA report of your route down the west ridge.)

Sure could have been! I've seen both Cougar and large Bobcat tracks in that area this winter. Always exciting! I told my wife I was going to paint large Tiger eyes on the back of my hood, for a bit of comfort when I'm feeling spooked. smile.gif And yes, South Bessemer's summit is top notch! (especially in the winter) (And so much easier on the bones to travel back down the road with a soft bed of snow!)

Windy Mountain (near Stevens Pass), 2023-03-28 Parked off Hwy 2 at the gate for the Iron Goat trailhead. Took the trail 700' up to the Iron Goat Trail, put on snowshoes, then went straight up the ridge to the summit. Steep for the first 1000', which was a pain going down in snowshoes (and even worse without due to postholing). Soft slippery snow. Overcast, but nice views of nearby peaks. 5 miles round trip, 3200' gain

Granite Lakes Connecter, North Ridge Mailbox, Old Trail Loop. BTW, the blowdown on the Granite Connecter has been cleaned up nicely!
More Balloons
I love to explore a bit, but this was just wrong! Stay closer to the ridge.
Winters storms left a whole bunch of Blowdown on the center part of the ridge. Icky.
Top half was nice, but you'll still push some brush higher up.
Cheers B!

Wildernessed, Steve and I did a quick overnight trip up Tarpiscan Creek south of Wenatchee to check out the flower bloom and test out some new gear. We had perfect weather and saw lots of flowers coming out.

^ Hey, Hit The Trail, with the warmer weather, wondering if you saw any of those adorable little rattlers that like to hang out in that area... eek.gif

We pretty much stayed on the road all the way up to our camp. No rattlers sighted! After we set-up camp Steve and Rob went on another little jaunt up toward Clockum Pass while I rested a sore knee. They didn't mention any snakes. Last year around this same time when we were hiking around the old homestead debris and I almost stepped on a big rattler I was in thick grass and weeds. I am sure the snake was just trying to make a living by laying in wait to ambush a mouse and not waiting to bite me.
This is what I was wading through when I almost stepped on the big rattler.

Took my daughter up to Big Four for a picnic in the sun. Continuous snow begins about a mile from the Ice Cave TH. We saw a couple of big avalanches off Big Four.

Schalow Mountain north of Conconully on Sinahlekin Rd. I spent the night in Sugarloaf Campground across the road and hiked up in the morning. The trail is unmaintained and unmarked but still relatively easy to follow. There are some steep sections with narrow tread which gave me pause but the footing is good. 3.4 miles and 1635' gain RT.

Quick bike ride up to falls from Carnation. Lots of folks parked for Cableline in spite of breakins. Snoqualmie and Tolt look very high and cold. I would avoid a dip or tube. Falls a bit less than expected but nice.

Camped with a friend at Noisy Creek for a couple of nights last weekend starting on Friday. Saw one couple on Friday and then the crowds appeared via boats and boots on Saturday. No fish but enjoyed the views of Baker and the refrigerator that Noisy Creek is.

Headed east to escape grey rainy skys and crowded streets. Grand Coulee area fit the bill, mid 80's blue sky for at least a couple of days and nobody around. Moses Coulee is cool.
Dry Falls are so interesting.
Did some foot soaking at Steamboat State Park
Dining out of the trunk at Northrop Trailhead.
The big dam at dusk.
A satisfying short escape. Gonna head back and explore Northrop Cyn a little further and check out the lower Grand Coulee.

Since I have no expectations of forgiveness, I don't do it in the first place. That loop hole needs to be closed to everyone.
