What a crazy Final 4--San Diego St., Miami and Florida Atlantic to go along with UConn. That's gotta be the most unlikely foursome ever.

My nephew is here visiting, he's a student at Louisville. The timing was coincidental, but we decided to go watch the Louisville-Iowa Regional Final tonight. Iowa blew their doors off. Caitlin Clark is the best college womens basketball player in the country by a wide margin, and she totally went off. Had a triple double w/ 41 points, a historic feat (first ever 40 point triple double in a Tourney game; first ever 30 point triple double in the Tourney for that matter). There were a ton of Iowa fans in the building and they made a lot of noise.

On Saturday the UConn women lost here in Seattle to Ohio St. It snapped their streak of 14 straight Final 4 appearances.

UConn is flying out to Houston in style, in Robert Kraft’s Patriots jet. He lends it out to college teams frequently.

Yea, it's pretty clear that Uconn is the best team left, so they should definitely lose, in this year of super parity and unpredictability. Florida Atlantic all the way! I think I have finally learned to not try to predict sports outcomes and am glad that I learned long ago not to bet on sports.

No repeat Title for the South Carolina women. Iowa took them down tonight. Caitlin Clark scored 41 for the second consecutive game. Most points ever scored by a player in the semifinals. Also scored or assisted on EVERY point Iowa scored in the 4th quarter. That is impressive.

She is amazing. No way the championship game tops that one.

Another great game today between San Diego State and Florida Atlantic. Florida led at start then San Diego got ahead but Florida led at half and continued for all but last few seconds at one point by 14. Late in Second half both had problems scoring. Then in last second after trailing by 1 San Diego sunk a 2 point to win by 1. On to Yukon Huskies (sic) and Miami. Huskies winning is always great even if wrong Huskies. Any day Florida loses is a good day let’s make it a double. tongue.gif

Miami put up a fight. If they hadn’t missed so many layups it would have been a tough battle. When Sanogo hit two three pointers early on I knew Miami was in trouble. The three by Karaban to end the half was a dagger. Final margin same as at halftime so zero comeback.

Uconn just had too many weapons and wore them down, they are deep team, should be an epic battle against SDU.....modern day gladiators. I was sad that FLA lost, but what an amazing shot by Butler at the end. Defense wins Championships.

The team that scores the most points almost always wins unlike elections. wink.gif

The team I'm rooting for hardly ever wins, so par for the course today. Mulkey is a jerk. A team that hardly makes any 3s went out of their minds today hitting 11-17 (and 9-12 in the first half). Clark had a good game statistically, but didn't quite look like the same player who had complete mastery of the court all during the Tourney.

Yeah, Reese is a classless as her coach. All the more reason to be disappointed by the outcome.

Oh please. Clark did the same dumb hand wavey thing to Van Lith and no one called her classless.

Clark did do a "you can't see me" during the game against Louisville, but it wasn't the same at all.
