Progress dude. AI scams, flash mobs, livestreamed mass shootings. Do you want to go back to living in caves or something?

Yep. There were no scams until AI corrupted our angelic nature.

ChatGPT can solve captchas now, by socially engineering humans. The successor to ChatGPT has convinced a human via text message to solve a Captcha puzzle for it after claiming to be a visually impaired person. OpenAI unveiled GPT-4 on Tuesday, just a few months after releasing its viral ChatGPT chatbot to the public, saying in a live stream that the new generative artificial intelligence tool was able to carry out “much more nuanced instructions” than its predecessor. https://www.independent.co.uk/tech/chatgpt-gpt4-ai-openai-b2301523.html?amp

Last night there was a blow-your-mind away program on AI on 60 Minutes. They spent 2 segments of the show on it, primarily showcasing what Google is doing in the field, and interviewed their CEO at length, as well as showing some robotic learning stuff. It's a good intro to what's happening. Very cool, and sorta scary. It's truly moving us forward into Star Trek and HAL territory. Of course, the exploitation potential is exponential. Hopefully the whole program will work in this link for more than a few days. https://www.cbsnews.com/60-minutes/

Yeah, maybe. If they're "phonics" chatbots. wink.gif

They'll probably be cartoon characters, or games? Kids don't seem to have a limit to their interest in technology or learning.

Can chatbots speak pig latin? That will be the turning point. Dave should have used that on HAL.

Customer service workers at a Fortune 500 software firm who were given access to generative artificial intelligence tools became 14% more productive on average than those who were not, with the least-skilled workers reaping the most benefit. That’s according to a new study by researchers at Stanford University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology who tested the impact of generative AI tools on productivity at the company over the course of a year. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-04-24/generative-ai-boosts-worker-productivity-14-new-study-finds

Ha! The chatbot nailed me spot on. Pungent and earthy aroma, oh yeah. Dank. However, I would translate chatbots as atbotschay. So minus a point for AI there.

ChatGPT definitely has more patience than most (all?) people with dumb questions and the family member may actually end up learning something.

Study Finds ChatGPT Outperforms Physicians in High-Quality, Empathetic Answers to Patient Questions A new study published in JAMA Internal Medicine led by John W. Ayers, Ph.D., from the Qualcomm Institute at University of California San Diego provides an early glimpse into the role that AI assistants could play in medicine. The study compared written responses from physicians and those from ChatGPT to real-world health questions. A panel of licensed healthcare professionals preferred ChatGPT’s responses 79% of the time and rated ChatGPT’s responses as higher quality and more empathetic.
