I'd like to see us figure out a way to efficiently produce hydrogen. We've got millions of internal combustion engines. If we could produce hydrogen efficiently, those ICE's could be converted to burn H2 instead of hydrocarbons. Toyota has made a prototype, but I don't know about the energy efficiency (or lack thereof) of creating H2.
