fun day. 2nd time up this peak. did some things better than the first time, some worse. so it goes. great partners phil got in a 1400' run on nice snow, but paid for it having to haul his skis through some not exactly friendly terrain for carrying skis on your back. quick and dirty route info: park pull-out near cabinet creek, hike road to se side of cabinet creek, follow game trails paralleling the creek to 3900', ascend s to ridge. take ridge to 5800' and then take easiest terrain on ridge or e side of it to summit. class 2. 6.59mi 3895' gain 4:41 car to summit (including 0:33 going the wrong way up the creek) 0:45 summit stay 3:05 summit to car 8:32 car to car equipment: ice axe, (phil brought and used skis) equipment brought, but not used: crampons
compare to 5-24-2018: 5.41mi 3791' gain 3:40 car to summit 1:49 summit stay 2:31 summit to car 8:00 car to car
