This picture is from page 75 of the 4th edition of Ira Spring & Harvey Manning's 100 Hikes in Glacier Peak Region. The caption says "Alpine flower field from Pilot Ridge", but I'm pretty sure it's not from Pilot Ridge.
Does anyone recognize these peaks and know what they are and where the photo is taken from?

Yeah, looking south-ish up the Cadet Creek valley, but from a slightly different angle (further west) than Shane's photo.

Could you jump one ridge closer than the colour photo? Descending ridge to left in older photo then matches. Maybe 60 years of timber growth.

Shane's photo seems to be looking southwest to the Monte Cristos from about the midpoint of Pilot Ridge (maybe from near Point 5713?). Kyes, Monte Cristo, and Cadet are pretty clear in Shane's photo with Foggy Peak kind of by itself towards the right side of the picture.
The broad peak in the center and the pointy peak in the center-right of the 100 Hikes photo don't seem to me to correspond with any of the Monte Cristo peaks.

This has really intrigued me as I have seen Monte Cristo from the Cadet Creek Trail and it looks similar to the picture except from a different elevation. I was guessing the pic in question might have been taken from Bald Eagle Mt. but it was raining when we were up there, so I have no pics. Looking through old TR’s, I found one for Bald Eagle by Kim Brown from July 22, 2013. She has a good picture of Monte Cristo taken from Bald Eagle that matches up somewhat with the picture in question. Just a wild guess though…

Kim's picture labeled "The Monte Cristos from Bald Eagle trail above Curry Gap" https://www.nwhikers.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8006384&highlight=bald+eagle shows Monte Cristo Peak on the left, the pointy "Twin Bear" at center-right with the ridge of The Cadets further right, and the creek coming out of Quartz Lake at the bottom.
The pointy "Twin Bear" in Kim's photo does resemble the pointy peak in the 100 Hikes photo, but the broad peak in the center of the 100 Hikes photo doesn't seem to be Monte Cristo Peak.

That's it, looks like both pictures taken from pretty much the same spot. Looking southwest to Malachite Peak from near the top of Peak 5280+ on Tonga Ridge.
Thanks Justus!
