Mesahchie and I Climbed the Brothers South peak via Lena Lake trail. Began hiking from Lena Lake / Brothers trailhead about 9:30a. Lena Creek was very high. Several crossings had been improvised with lines near the standard ford but we chose to go another 30 yards upstream to cross on a very high blowdown jumble. Same with East Fork Lena. Plentiful snowmelt, blowdowns and some confusing flagging to follow through a section that goes directly thru the creek. Full snow cover once at climber’s camp. Minor post-holing did not justify snow shoes. Snow was nicely consolidated. Dropped bivy bags at the top of the burn and got a start the next morning up the snowfield. We detoured right to pass the hourglass and re-entered the gulley again above the waterfall. Took turns kicking steps until forced right at the base of steeper snow. Then a short but very loose gulley leads to the summit. 3 other climbers joined us as we were leaving. Same route down and back to car about 5:30p.

Apart from summiting and the great views, highlight of the trip for me was watching the thunderstorm over Seattle's city lights at 2 AM in the morning with nothing but stars above our camp
Cheers,
