These products are being recalled because the pot handle to come loose or disengage. This could potentially spill contents, including hot liquids, and result in a possible burn hazard. We urge you to comply with the following recall instructions immediately. Customers should immediately stop using the products listed above and contact Cascade Designs to receive a free replacement handle. The Backcountry Team Note, I do not have the the item purchased in 2010(?), I do have an item on the list that I purchased from another retailer. That retailer did not notify me.Good on Backcountry.com for the notice despite others here that don't like the retailer. https://www.nwhikers.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8030848&highlight=backcountry+com

I've got a couple of these pots. I know the flaw that prompted the recall but I'm not terribly worried about it.

Friends help the miles go easier. Klahini

The handle I have one from long ago, back in 2010, from a previous version, that never connected properly. But I had so many of the MSR pots I just threw the handle in a bin and used the others. Those pots eventually ended up in our RV. I went digging a week or two back and actually found the handle. It's very obvious when the handle is a defective. It doesn't click at all, and flops. I probably should contact them....or just ignore it for another 14 years. Hahahaha.
