I'm excited to do more scrambling across the West. I'm keen on desert summits, and I'm also psyched to do more in Colorado and Utah (and Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho!) Would love to hear what websites folks are using for trip planning. Site with current trip reports would be great! Also, what are your fav guide books for these areas? So much to do! Thanks, B!

Andy Zdon's, "Desert Summits" (Spotted Dog Press) is an inspiring read too!

I like Backcountry Post, there are a lot of good TRs for the Northern Rockies (particularly Yellowstone area and the Winds and Beartooths) as well as the Colorado Plateau. I've written up a couple trips there from recent visits to Utah. In terms of books, I highly recommend anything written by Michael Kelsey for Utah, and Michel Digonnet has a great series of books for much of the Mojave Desert, especially for Death Valley NP.
