OK, so the cat likes to chew on plastic. How did I know he was going to chew on several packages of Mountain House, etc??? It ain't plastic.... and he hasn't done it before.
There are unfortunately teeth puncture holes below the seal line on some of the freeze-dried food bags. This happened last night. Can I put these into say, a ziploc freezer bag and be OK for another month or two - or am I having camping food for dinner this week?
Any advice is appreciated. Other than turning him into a toilet brush

If it were me, I'd flatten the packets as much as possible, tape over the punctures, and toss the meals in the freezer until you're ready to use em. The oxygen absorbant packet should help mitigate the remaining trapped air. But then, I'm not much for filtering water either. So consider the source.
Ya didn't happen to buy 'em at REI did you?

aw geez. My brother is a government food inspector, and I can't imagine telling him I ate freeze-dried food that had the seal punctured
REI - yup, how did you guess. I threw some food into the same order as some closeout items. No, I can't take it back in good conscience claiming their warehouse rats got to it!!

It will be fine....just seal the bags well (ie, the new freezer bags) and roll up tightly, pushing out all air. If you are really worried about moisture getting in, put them in the freezer.
They will be fien-and yes, you can "cook" them in the freezer bag and a cozy
