And people wonder why the Appalachian Mountains which were higher than The Cascades, Sierras and others are so small. Ancient peakbaggers wore the mountains down. Some mountain tops in The Appalachians which are now under 3000' have exposed rock that dates back 4 billion years. agree.gif

Another list of peaks is on the NW Peakbaggers Asylum. Or a good list of peaks worth bagging is on Washington's Major Peaks.

I don't know how I missed this forum for so long. Too busy argueing politics, I guess. Thanks to wildernessed for climber.org link. And to the site manager(s).

I have seen people set out towards ENWH all bright and starry-eyed and idealistic. But when they get there, their name changes, their personality changes, and they become bogged down in the swamp of politics, dodging mud slung hither and yon. You are one of the few that has emerged unscathed, with your identity intact and, apparently, no deprogramming involved. Count your blessings that you are once again on tierra firma.

Yeah, you just keep on thinking that. agree.gif No one goes to the dark side and comes back unscathed.

That link is fabulous! Even though I have TOPO! on my computer, if I hear of a peak but don't know where it is, the search can be a pain. That alphabetized list makes pinpointing a peak as easy as pie. Thanx, Wildernessed! up.gif

don't you use the gazetteer function? it finds all names related to the one you typed in and alphabetizes them, a click on one shows you the regional view with crosshairs, select it and boom there you are
