Anybody know what this obelisk is doing along Lost Creek Ridge, east of Breccia Peak? On the ridgetop is evidence of an antenna. It's in Wilderness area, methinks, and I'm wondering how they get to put this in there.
Solar powered antenna?

Permanent Structures
Hello Sawyer, In reviewing the Wilderness Policies Section 2324.33g allows for "Communication Structures." They are to be "..only as necessary for administration and protection of wilderness areas." The Forest Supervisor oversees these exceptions. They are supposed to be camouflaged as best as possible to the surrounding terrain however. The Wilderness Act of 1964 was to establish wilderness for "... the permanent good of the whole people, and for other purposes." This undoubtedly falls under the clause added at the end.

From my maps it is just outside the wilderness boundary. I have a virtual geocache there. Around the old antenna (sawed off to 1' high there are the remains of many old dry cells (big ones that looked like 16 oz beer cans). The one that is there is solar which is abit of an improvement. There is no sign on it as to ownership.

There is an obelisk about 30 feet tall and has camouflaged paint on the south side of peak 6820 which is just north of Granite Pass which is just north of Cutthroat Pass. I never saw it until I was on top of peak 6820…… I couldn't open the locked door to see what that obelisk does.....

Art is an adventure.

Interesting to get a comment like this from MC, who did what he did to that part of his anatomy.

Maybe it is a small pyramid and Elvis' mummy rests inside.

Yes, he used it as a ploy to get out of marrying the native girl he was shacked up with.
