Tanja, Daisy and I spent last Sunday through Tuesday at Kalaloch, and overall it was great. Sunday night we had dinner at the lodge and it sucked! The first warning sign was when the waitress said that all the chefs from last year were now gone. Tanja ordered the pot roast, which was charred into lumps of dry meat, with miniscule "pan gravy". I spent $23 on a seafood medly with angel hair pasta, which turned out to be just regular old spaghetti! The salmon and scallops, etc were none too plentiful, either. They brought Tanja some nice pork medalions to replace her inedible pot roast, but neglected to bring the chutney that was supposed to be brought along with it. They then charged us full price for both meals! You can rest assured that they will be hearing from Tanja. We didn't want to ruin our good time by making a scene or anything, so we will just ask them for some compensation for their total ineptness. It was depressing to see a once-proud eatery fallen on such obviously hard times. Their pretentions and pricing are now out of whack with the food, presentation and service. The ocean was still great.
