Here's a practical tip: I keep a kamelbak-type water container in one of my pack's side pockets so I can sip while I hike. If I keep chocolate in the same pocket, the cool water keeps the chocolate from melting. The food is also readily available without digging deep into the pack.

Hike only when the temperature is less than 83 degrees. hockeygrin.gif

Has anyone tried this? http://www.rei.com/product/753262 $9.95 is rather pricey for 4 oz of chocolate! I wonder if it's any good?
