Weird question, I know. rolleyes.gif We're going to the Combine Demolition Derby in Lind on June 14. We'll be staying the night in Moses Lake. Are there any decent restaurants? Notice I didn't say *good* restaurants. I'm not expecting the world.

Bob's Restaurant, if it's still there. N side of I-90 at the intersection with that road what comes out of Ohello. Best hamburgers ever. The restaurant has a giant aluminum palm tree in front of it. I don't know why.

Marylou and I had pretty decent Mexi-chow at a popular place on the main drag in downtown. I'm pretty sure it's got the biggest ad in the phone book but I don't remember the name.

El Charro, 205 S. Division, good authentic Mexican food, run by the Zavala family, who've been in business for something like 40 years. Look for Tom Selleck's photo inside. Inca Mexican Restaurant, 404 E. 3rd Ave., also good, but a little more Americanized (like Azteca). Michaels On The Lake, 910 W. Broadway, decent steaks and seafood. Chicos Pizza, 530 W. Valley Rd., great pizza. Try the Hochstatter Special. Will be busy on a weekend (45+ minute wait, but worth it). Bob's Cafe, 1807 E. Kittleson Rd. just off the east I-90 interchange, good breakfasts, especially cinnamon rolls.

A fuxk, why do I not give one?

Ok, so we're back. biggrin.gif El Charro was indeed awesome. up.gif I had the Birrea (sort of a Mexican pot roast) - not the same as I learned to make, but really, really good. Chubbyhubby was happy with his shredded beef tacos, and Nephew was happy with his bean burrito. We went to Bob's for breakfast, which was indeed very good. The cinnamon rolls are eye-poppingly huge - I'm munching on part of mine right now. My only criticism is that they have raisins. I hate raisins. And that they very carefully included all the raisins I'd picked out in the take out box - I had the raisins pushed off to the side of the plate, and they piled the raisins up back in the middle of the cinnamon roll for me. mad.gif I'll never understand why people feel the need to defile wonderful baked goodies with raisins. Anyhoo... Nephew was happy with his bacon cheeseburger for breakfast and chubbyhubby and I were happy with our more normal eggs and bacon. -- The Combine Demolition Derby was the most pure fun I've had in a long time. A trip report will be coming after we sort out the photos.
