Don't know if anyone has mentioned this before.
Ran across a dandy book today WASHINGTON TERRITORY by Robert E. Ficken of Issaquah, published by WSU Press.
Paperback, 288 pages. Just getting into it.

Ficken co-authored with Charles LeWarne another book on WA history, Washington; A Centennial History. Both books increase the depth of understanding for our state's history. For one of the nwhikers gatherings I would like to bring in some of my maps of Washington Territory for folks to see. The territory used to extend all the way down to the Wind River Range.
