This coming week, I'd like to accomplish two things: Goat Lake up Mountain Loop Highway, and a day trip east of the mountains. I'm not sure about my days off yet, but I have all day Tuesday for sure, and a late start option Wednesday. Am still waiting for confirmation on the rest of the week. I especially want to have a companion to go to E WA because of the cost of fuel. I live in Seattle and can drive.

I might be available for E. WA. Wed, Thurs, or Fri. I did Goat Lake last month and as much as I liked it, I'm not ready to go back quite yet. Which hikes are on your radar for E. WA?

I can be flexible. I have done Umptanum, Skyline/Black, W. Dick. Could do again or something new. Preferably no more distant than Yakima.

Are you feelin' a snow free or at least no traction device needed hike, or are you looking to get up higher than that?

I'm not looking to muck around in crumbling spring snow. Both of my objectives provide for snow-free hinking. up.gif

Cool, count me as a maybe. Once I know what the rest of the week looks like for you I will see if anyone is available to watch the kids while I escape, er, go hiking I mean.

Hulkus, you're being a Debbie Downer! rant.gif Seriously, thanks for the heads up. May have to skip the west side walkie this week and just hit the dry side. Last year there was one point in the summer when I went over Snoqualmie Pass four times in one week. Seemed silly to keep coming home, but there were these nagging obligations. Things like going to work, picking up fry for the next trip, little inconveniences like that. My fuel bill was pretty out of control that month.

I am working Friday. May not go east this week as it looks like I'll be over there for three days next week and three the week after. Still free all day Thursday though.

Was able to wrangle the afternoon off tomorrow - I'm guessin' you'll be out all day but if not I'll be getting to a trailhead on MLH around 1-2 tomorrow for a quickie.
