Otter and Roxanne, me desided to try to go to Otter Falls for ourselves. The weather was cloudy, we started out early. We missed the first water fall on Taylor River. about .25 miles from the trailhead, (but caught it on the way back). After about a mile up the trail Otter spotted a rock, she climb up the rock and was looking at the view, across the valley she say something move in a meadow. We looked through the bonaculars and we believe it to be a mother bear and her two cubs. At 2.5 miles in we ran into the old rotted out bridge, (of which crosses right in front of Marten Creek Falls), someone had put a couple boards across so that people could cross safely. If you walk up the left side of the creek you will see an upper water fall. After another 2.5 miles you come to a pile of rocks with a stick coming out of them, on the left. This is the trail to Otter Falls, as you can see from our pic and the last pic taken there, the amount of water is quiet a bit less than before. There is one more waterfall, either 1/2 mile or 3/4 mile up river, Big Creek Falls, we never made it up to there. On the way back down the trail we picked up the waterfall on the Taylor River. Roxanne crossed the small but deep creek to see the water fall, Otter and i stayed on the otherside keeping dry. The creek was lined with alders and rock with years of moss growing on them. It was well worth the few steps off the trail to see the creek alone.
Ladies you got to love those pink nails??
Hee... Hee...
