I can't wear polypro or any of it's cousins so I decided to try a SmartWool t-shirt despite the high cost. But I couldn't find any. Apparently they're redesigning them. But I found this company in New Zealand that makes merino wool outdoor gear. They carry everything from camisoles to thick, heavy, felted coats. I got a long-sleeved, lightweight t-shirt. It's as soft as silk and the price is better than SmartWool. It's Outside Sports: http://www.outsidesports.co.nz/

Icebreaker is great looking stuff. Also check out the manufacturer's site www.icebreaker.co.nz Icebreaker makes the lightest weight Merino fabric I have found, but it's still "mid weight" compared to most synthetic lines. REAL comfortable stuff though. It definitely feels nicer next to your skin if you get it wet. Also check out the links in my Merino thread at https://www.nwhikers.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=94
