I can't wear polypro or any of it's cousins so I decided to try a SmartWool t-shirt despite the high cost. But I couldn't find any. Apparently they're redesigning them. But I found this company in New Zealand that makes merino wool outdoor gear. They carry everything from camisoles to thick, heavy, felted coats. I got a long-sleeved, lightweight t-shirt. It's as soft as silk and the price is better than SmartWool. It's Outside Sports:

Icebreaker makes the lightest weight Merino fabric I have found, but it's still "mid weight" compared to most synthetic lines. REAL comfortable stuff though. It definitely feels nicer next to your skin if you get it wet.
