Trail long and hot. It had rained the day before and all the overhanging vegetation was soaked, and after about 4 mi. so was I. I hate to hike with wet feet. It took me about 6 hrs. to hike 11-12 mi. Very steep climb out of river valley up headwall-1200 ft. Chiwaukum lake and campsites very nice, the bugs were horrible! But I have heard that alot this year. Took day hike to Larch lakewhich is even more beautiful! The bugs were worse here and also at cup lake. Great weather all 3 days. 4.5 hrs hike out.
