It’s a Slugfest!

I tried to upload a picture of Williams lake and I recieved a denial message saying that I have reached my upload limit of 15 megabytes. I went into my picture folder to delete the "unworthy" pictures, and some jokey pictures never meant to be permanent in the first place, and the procedure takes forever. I must open the picture, follow the link to the original post, delete the attachment from the original post, resubmit the original post sans attachment, then hit the back button numerous times, ignoring the warning that the "page has expired", then wait as the whole picture page reloads, and then the picture still shows up until I hit the refresh button. Is there any way to do this more easily, like a delete button or tab hidden somewhere on the picture page that I'm just to dumb to see? Some of the pictures are good and should be archived, but many are of only fleeting interest and should be cleared out occasionally.

That's the awful, time consuming procedure I'm trying to avoid. Using that method will take me hours to delete the pictures I want gone. We are talking ten pictures minimum per megabyte, times maybe five or ten megabytes. That's fifty or a hundred times through an elaborate, time consuming procedure, when a "delete" tab would allow me to accomplish it it ten minutes maybe. If I gotta, then I gotta, but if I don't gotta, then I don't wanna.

I have very fast broadband, but this site is kind of slow even when every other site is fast as lightning. But how do you suggest I find the posts from which I want to delete the one hundred or so pictures I need to delete, other than through the picture page, which requires the loading of the picture, scrolling down, selecting "edit post", going to the post, deleting attachment, resubmitting post, backtracking, etc, etc etc? Or is this site "slow while all other sites are fast" just for me?

You rule, Tom! Thanks. Some of my pictures are pretty good, and should be archived for people who are searching trip reports and such, plus I can imbed them in later threads if they are applicable, but others are of fleeting interest only, or just aren't that great, but were the only ones I had of an area, and they need to be weeded out occasionally, and this link makes it WAY easier.

Darn, some really good photos have been deleted, like the January photo in my dream calendar. And the June photo was swapped out with another nice picture, but I really like the original of the person in a mid-air jump between rocks with the caption "Did she make it?" or whatever it said. I can't remember who took it but it was a great photo! Don't delete your good ones! bawl.gif
