Video of some of the descent:
There was plenty of snow after about 2,500' and a deep trench until 500' below the summit where snowshoes became necessary. Now there is probably a well beaten path. This was my 3rd or 4th visit to the top.

Gate still open before Big 4 Ice Caves area? If so, that's really strange for late December. I hiked Goat Lake a few weeks ago. Maybe the road will stay open all winter.
Anyway, looks like a nice trip. Dickerman is a good outing.

The gate was still open. That could change so I'd watch the mbsnf website.

Awesome photos of the surrounding peaks: Sloan, Whitehorse, Eldorado, Three Fingers, Big Four ... That's an amazing part of the world.
Outstanding work!

Nice. A few more snow storms and it will be a lot harder.

Thanks for trip report, and great pics.
I had read about a treacherous gully on Dickerman. Can you comment on the conditions of snow and ice, in that area, and if there is any danger we need to prepare for. Is ice axe or crampons required? Thanks.

No worries at all. I was there last Thursday and carried but did not use snowshoes. There was no avy danger and the waterfall was nearly completely snow-free. Spikes were somewhat useful. Conditions might be even easier tmo and Thursday before the next storm cycle. Enjoy!
Beautiful mountain,
Dickerman's siren beckons,
great 360 views.

Good job, you guys!
Strangely, I am probably one of the few local avid hikers who has yet to hike up Mount Dickerman.
