Hmmmmmm...Thanks to JimmyMac making a comment on another thread, I started thinking.... I love backpacking-but I know many on this forum have never done it. The part of backpacking that is hardest for many newbies to it, is meals-and meal planning. The hardest thing can be thinking: "what do I need to bring?" "Can I do it simpler?" "How can I avoid eating ramen for 3 days?". etc, etc...... And yeah, I am a bit obbsessed with it...my non-profit website that Rainrunner and me came up with (http://www.freewebs.com/freezerbagcooking/ ) , is my way of sharing my love of backpacking. I love to cook, and I love being lazy on the trail.... And I love doing gettogethers ..... So my question is, would anyone be intrested in a saturday or sunday gettogether in the next month-at say, a NF picnic area or similar, maybe on I-90...where I show everyone how to cook easy on the trail...I bring all the gear, I show you all my tricks, etc....and you get to eat a bunch-o samples wink.gif I am sure I can corral Marszit to help me wink.gif Just a thought...............

i'll make it if i can..for the oreo pudding...

There's a mostly unspoken acknowledgment among the voluntarily impoverished that it's better to be fiscally poor yet rich in experience-living the dream-than to be traditionally wealthy but live separate from one's passions.
