Those of you looking for a list of good eats, as well as healthier options like paleo/glutenfree/vegan, etc., I made a list of my favorites that I like to stop at before/after hikes:

Twisp has it's first food truck! FORK. At the old ranger station - now Twispworks.
https://www.facebook.com/forktwisp/
Wonderful pork or chicken Banh Mi. Good burgers. Nice salads, too. Great handcut fries. These folks bake their own buns, and the wonderful bread makes the sandwiches. They previously ran a bakery in Bend, OR.
Limited hours: 11 to 3 Weds thru Sat. Also breakfast sandwiches, etc at the Twisp farmers market on Sat. Mornings.

Connell WA, at HWY 395 & HWY 260.
Burger Factory, on Columbia Ave, the main drag.
Burgers, dogs, fries, handmade shakes. Fish and chips, but I didn't see any ordered. All sandwiches served with chicken breast at request.
Good burgers, served hot and quick. Great large crinkle cut fries, actually cooked perfectly just at the start of crisp, and fully cooked through. Not as common as you'd think. Fry order too large for me. I only ate a third. I did not try the shakes. I sure wish I could.
Eagle is a longer hamburger with a thin slice of ham. I might request a second slice. Beef good, better than average.
Served with sauce and ketchup on the side.
Facilities clean.
A great quick stop on the way to Palouse Falls or The Blues.
Best.

The waitress had seen us through the window, and actually came outside and herded us in, saying that we can finish de-mudding in the dining room, since everyone in there is always muddy anyway.Once inside, the other patrons there were awesome. I called a man at another table a "gentleman," and he overheard it. He acted all indignant, and said, "hey! did you just call me a gentleman?" I replied, "Oh, I'm sorry." and turned to my freinds and continued the conversation, "...I mean, the saw blade was from here to that bastard over there at the next table."The fellow patron was then happy and tipped his beer. |

It's probably been there a long time, but I only checked it out last year and it's now my go to spot in Darrington, probably been there a half dozen times or so--Burger Barn. Pretty decent burgers, haven't tried any of their other grub, also nice milkshakes. From the T intersection where 530 splits off and the Mt. Loop Highway goes right, it's just a few yards to the left, towards the Ranger Station. It's right next to the gas station (Shell I think?).

figured this was the most appropriate place to post this:
Charles & Terry
1905 Bridgeport Way West (19th & Bridgeport)
University Place, Wa. 98466
253 244 7777
Open until 8:00 pm every day
Chinese.
Excellent.
Clean. New. Well-lit.
Soup was HOT and full of all kinds of goodies.
Chicken fried rice LOADED with big pieces of chicken.
Sauce on the stir-fried shrimp was fabulous.
Mongolian beef was a little heavy on the onion, but nonetheless excellent.
Fortune cookies were crunchy!

Just added a new entry to the wiki. Clarks Restaurant south of the SR 107 intersection on US Highway 101. During the season, fresh blackberry pie. Real soft ice cream milkshakes. Chili Wednesday as I recall and in general good food.
