I just found myself the unintended recipient of a bunch of dried apples. They are of just okay quality, so I'd like to find a way to use them where they play a supporting role of some sort.
Anyone have any nice recipes for a dried apple backcountry dessert?

Lucky you! A simple recipe for the trail is to toss them into your jetboil with some cinnamon and sugar, add a little water and reconstitute them a bit - you can toss in some granola, too, for a pseudo-apple Crisp dessert.
For something more complex, you could try an Apple Stack Cake at home.

Shoot, I get stuff like that all the time. Whenever I'm out of groceries, I just go out to my truck, if I'm not too lazy, and rummage around. I pull out all kinds of dried up stuff.
I reconstituted a 1/2 of a dried-up PBJ sandwich once. I don't recommend it.
